Bare butt scene runs into censor trouble
The censor board members have raised a strong objection to a scene in Pankh. The scene has first time actor Maradona Rebello baring his butt. Bipasha refuses to smoke
Bipasha is known to be extremely health conscious and never smokes or drinks. She has, therefore, declined to even hold a cigarette, let alone smoke it in Pankh. Director Sudipto Chattopadhyay wanted Bipasha to smoke on screen for an important part. But Bipasha refused outrightly. Finally, Sudipto came up with a creative solution. He placed a canister jar in front of her which emitted smoke and it was shot in a way that it looked as if the smoke was coming out of her mouth.

'Everything looks good on Bipasha'
Designer Gavin Miguel, who has dressed divas like Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, has been working on Bipasha’s look in the film. "She gives me complete freedom when it comes to dressing her up. She is very experimental and tries to change her look in every movie. The best part is that she carries herself so well that everything looks good on her. She has a completely new look in Pankh," says Miguel.

Explaining the complexity of the story director Chattopadhyay says, "Bipasha is Jerry's fantasy who exists only his mind. She loves to provoke him at a drop of her hat." There's a song, Jiya na Jala, sung by Sunidhi Chauhan, where he fantasises Bipasha seducing him, creating confusion in his mind about his real identity whether he is a man, woman or an eunuch. "But Bipasha seduces him and is his sexual fantasy. Bipasha is his only solace from the ugly reality of life." Photo: BCCL

Dusky and doe-eyed glamour girl Bipasha Basu, will be seen playing the sexual fantasy of a boy called Maradona Rebello in Pankh. "I play an alter ego. I am an imaginary character - the protagonist in the film is a character called Jerry," says Bipasha. “It is about a boy who goes through gender confusion. He is a child artiste but plays a female child artiste and is very popular. Then he grows up and wants to be launched as a hero and hence the confusion." Photo:
